About Law Dairy

Law Dairy is an independent guide to Ohio law. We answer the questions Ohioans actually type into a search bar, such as whether weed is legal, how dark your window tint can be or when the burn ban starts, and we answer them from the source.

Why “Law Dairy”?

Ohio is dairy country, and a good dairy runs on a simple promise: fresh every day, checked before it ships. We hold our guides to the same standard. Every page carries a “Last verified” date, and when the law changes, the page changes with it.

What we cover

We cover the parts of Ohio law that touch daily life: cannabis and hemp, driving, guns and weapons, marriage and family, work and pay, gambling, health, housing, crime and courts, outdoor rules and new laws as they pass. Each guide gives a short answer first, then the details, penalties and common situations.

Who writes Law Dairy

Guides are written and edited by Hollis Brandt with support from the Law Dairy editorial team. We work from primary sources only: the Ohio Revised Code, the Ohio Administrative Code, Ohio Supreme Court and appellate decisions, bills from the Ohio General Assembly and guidance from the state agencies that enforce each rule. You can read how we work in our editorial policy.

What we are not

Law Dairy is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. We do not represent anyone, and reading a guide does not create an attorney-client relationship. If you need advice about your own case, contact a lawyer licensed in Ohio. See our legal disclaimer.
