Corrections

Ohio law changes, and we sometimes make mistakes. When that happens, we correct the guide quickly and tell readers what changed.

How to report an error

Use the email button on our contact page. Tell us the page, the sentence you think is wrong and, if you can, the statute, rule or court decision that shows the correct answer.

What we do next

  • We check the claim against the primary source.
  • If the guide is wrong or out of date, we fix it and update the “Last verified” date.
  • We add a dated note under “What changed on this page” that says what we corrected.
  • If a correction changes the short answer, we say so clearly at the top of the guide.

Updates versus corrections

An update means the law changed after we published. A correction means we got it wrong. We label both in each page’s change log so you always know which one it was. Our editorial policy explains how guides are checked.
